Project Assistant (f/m/x)

We are seeking to recruit a full-time Project Assistant (f/m/x) supporting our growing sustainable energy finance portfolio. The ideal candidate combines experience in project work, accounting and controlling This position will initially be limited for the duration of 24 months.

The FS-UNEP Centre is a strategic cooperation between UN Environment and Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. Our overall objective is to facilitate public and private financing of sustainable economic activities and projects. Our services include financial consulting, policy advice, research and education. We support financial institutions, businesses, governments and economies to scale-up sustainable finance.

Your Tasks

  • Supporting the project managers in all areas of acquisition, preparation, operational implementation and execution of project measures (e.g. preparation of contracts, invoicing, travel planning, etc.);
  • Financial accounting of projects (invoicing, communication with financial accounting, etc.);
  • Organisational and administrative support for consulting assignments;
  • Creation of templates and presentations;
  • Preparation of business trips of project managers;
  • Deadline monitoring, resubmission and return control;
  • Research for consulting assignments;
  • Updating and maintaining databases and project lists;
  • Support in the preparation of proposals, project reports, project-related training material and other project-relevant documents;

Your Profile

  • Apprenticeship, bachelor or master’s degree in a relevant subject;
  • International experience through professional assignments or internships; preferably in the consulting business;
  • Proficiency in English is mandatory; additional language skills are an advantage;
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel);
  • Organisational, good communication and administrative skills; attention for detail;
  • Quick adjustment to new environment and ready to work independently;
  • Ability to set priorities and manage time;

Project Coordinator (f/m/x)

Your Tasks

  • Supporting the project managers in the areas of acquisition, preparation, operational implementation and execution of project measures

  • Developing technical concepts under the guidance and support of project managers
  • Independently processing expression of interests

Your Profile

  • University degree, preferably at Masters’ level, in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Banking, or related field or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience in working in the financial service industry (<2 years) and in project management (<5 years)
  • Interest in working in finance sector advisory projects in Emerging and Developing Countries
  • Basic knowledge in sustainable finance, sustainable energy finance or climate finance
  • Good quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; ability to conduct in-depth research; strong writing skills
  • Motivated, dynamic and flexible to work in a multicultural, fast-changing environment
  • Excellent analytical and strategic planning skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, including ability to coordinate activities requiring participation of several stakeholders; excellent time management

Project Manager (f/m/x)

For our growing, international sustainable finance portfolio, we are looking for a Project Manager (f/m/x). The ideal candidate should have prior experience in project management. The position is initially limited for 24 months.

Your Tasks

  • Technical project design and budgeting, implementation and supervision of international consulting and training projects or financing programmes
  • Project management, reporting, responsibility for and control of budgets, coordination of external experts
  • Supporting the Senior Project Manager in development of new consulting and training concepts and products, incl. support in designing new project ideas and business models
  • Continuous observation of the market, especially of competitors, donor organizations, international networks etc.
  • Relationship Management: Attending of and correspondence with local, national, and international clients as well as of experts/consultants
  • Acquisition of new projects including compiling expressions of interest, technical and financial offers
  • Analysis of the support instruments and financing mechanisms

Your Profile

  • University degree in finance, banking, economics, or engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive work experience in project management in an international setting
  • Professional experience in operative implementation of international projects
  • Work experience in sustainable (energy) finance and/or climate finance
  • Project experience in banking or in international consulting and training in banking and finance sector
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual skills
  • Knowledge of current international sustainable finance developments
  • Strong capacity for teamwork, but also ability to work independently
  • Strong communication skills within and outside the team, commitment, sociability, flexibility, intercultural sensitivity
  • Fluent in English (working language)
  • Proficiency in MS Office
